Sniper Elite 4 is a tactical shooter game with stealth elements, played from a third-person perspective. When the player kills an enemy using a sniper rifle from a long distance, the X-Ray kill cam system will activate, in which the game's camera follows the bullet from the sniper rifle to the target, and shows body parts, bones or internal body organs being broken or ruptured by the bullet.[1] The system has also been expanded to include shrapnel kills, melee kills and stealth kills.[2]
Sniper Elite 4 was developed by Rebellion Developments. According to Tim Jones, Rebellion's Head of Creative, the game was designed to be a "sniper paradise".[4] As a result, the team expanded the size and scale of the game's maps and levels to make "real long shots" possible. The animation system, artificial intelligence and the game's rendering technology were also reworked.[4]

Update: Fortunately there is now an official way to pre-install Sniper Elite 5 through Xbox Game Pass on console! All you need to do is head to the Xbox Game Pass app, search for Sniper Elite 5 in the "Coming Soon" section (or manually with the 'Y' button), and then select the "pre-install" option to begin the download.
You can also now pre-install via the official Xbox Game Pass app on Android and iOS, rather than following the workaround below. On the PC version of Game Pass, the game doesn't seem to have been updated to the full version yet, so you'll only be downloading a placeholder file for the time being.
The game is coming in at a whopping 80GB on Xbox Series X, so make sure you have the drive space to get this one installed. Once you do, you can head to the official Xbox mobile app and start the download!
Once you've completed these steps, the game should start downloading on your Xbox system of choice. However, if this is your first time using the Xbox app on mobile, you may be prompted to pair your console with it first.
If you then find you can't access the game on release day because you "don't own it", you may need to go back into the Microsoft Store and hit 'download' once again - your Xbox will then realise you've downloaded it for Game Pass, and it should immediately start working.
When I try to download using Xbox mobile app (not gamepass) it gets stuck saying "waiting for xbox". I know this worked previously as I downloaded FH5 then played using the disc when it arrived. Any ideas?
The game didn't need to sell big numbers to achieve the result, and launch physical sales are 64% lower than Sniper Elite 4, which released in February 2017 (when it reached No.2).
